An Interview with David Smolansky
Hans Faye
SAIS Masters of International Public Policy (MIPP) student David Smolansky has a wealth of wisdom to share with the Johns Hopkins community. As the youngest mayor in the history of Venezuela, he was forced to step down by the Maduro regime. After 35 days in hiding, he managed to escape through the jungle into Brazil. Today, David promotes the well-being of the Venezuelan people and the future of his home country at the Organization of American States, where he serves as Special Envoy of the Secretary General to Address the Venezuelan Migration and Refugee Crisis.
