WASHINGTON — SAIS students recently celebrated 中秋節 (zhōngqiū jié) – Mandarin for the “Mid-Autumn” or “Moon” festival – on September 8th. Celebrated in several Asian nations, Mid-Autumn festival falls on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, when the moon is full. Students gathered for dinners and small parties, and of course, by eating mooncakes. Three SAIS students went to the Mid-Autumn Peking University Alumni BBQ in Bethesda, Maryland. The festival is celebrated within several Asian nations every year.
